![]() You have to successfully counter them several times and disarm at least twice before you get any damage out of it all. And shit, even if you do disarm them they instantly pull out their secondary and if you weren't already continuing your next attack (which you wouldn't be unless you are bad or somehow knew they were going to be disarmed) it won't hit them in time. ![]() The risk/reward isn't really there unless you're just that much better than your opponent or it's a duel where both players are so good they will never miss a parry so the battle comes down to who manages stamina better. You're taking a 50/50 to either take damage or maintain your stamina. Stamina management isn't an important enough reward for countering when counters leave you vulnerable to feints. Against most players you just get a stamina advantage from countering because they can block instantly after your counter deflects their attack, the increased speed of the attack doesn't really help you at all because they are automatically holding parry after their attack anyway. The only minor problem I have with this system is I think counters aren't rewarded enough. ![]() And feinting still absolutely has a place, especially in higher level play. This game's more about footwork and reading your opponent, finding out what mechanics they rely on too much and exploiting it. With Erik Braa, Ben Lepley, Artie Widgery, Ian James Corlett. That's why I like the held parry mechanic in this game, it makes it easier for new players to get into it but also adds more depth because you need to actually outplay your opponent rather than constantly roll a 50/50 to see if you get free damage just because you feinted. Chivalry 2: Directed by Steve Piggott, Randall Ryan. I think a heavy part of the mordhau playerbase got used to being able to just feint for free damage. Lots of mordhau players have been calling this game "casual" because of that but then you see them play and they get their asses kicked. Yeah I like that this game isn't so feint reliant.
